Cold Plunge Warranty and Serviceability Compared

Which cold plunge brands cover parts, labor and shipping, and which chillers a local tech can service. Eight brands, warranty terms checked August 16, 2026.

Comparison

Quick answer: BlueCube publishes the strongest coverage of the eight brands we checked: 3 years residential parts and labor, 10 years on tub and frame. Morozko is next, with 3 years parts and labor on PRO, XL and Arktika plus a 72-hour on-site service guarantee, though residential models get 1 year. Renu's 5-year headline covers the plastic body only, the chiller gets 1 year and labor reimbursement is capped at $50 per hour for 2 hours. Plunge, Sun Home, Ice Barrel's chiller and Inergize are all 1 year. Ice Barrel's lifetime barrel warranty is written as limited to 3 years. Edge Theory Labs has no warranty at all because the company is out of business. Warranty terms checked August 16, 2026.

Best for

Buyers deciding between two or three cold plunge brands who want to know what happens when the chiller fails in year two.

Wrong fit

Buyers who have not yet chosen a lane. Start with the cost and chiller guides before comparing warranty paperwork.

Tradeoff

The brands with the longest parts-and-labor coverage cost the most up front, and the brands with the cheapest entry price put the labor bill, the claim shipping and the cost of changing your mind on you.

The chiller is the half that breaks. It is also the half every warranty in this category treats differently from the tub.

That gap is not a technicality. A replacement chiller is a $2,299 to $3,999.99 line item at current published prices, and the difference between a brand that ships you a part and a brand that pays a technician to install it is the difference between a $150 afternoon and a four-figure repair.

Which cold plunge brands have serviceable chillers and useful parts, labor and shipping coverage

Two brands stand out on paper. BlueCube publishes 3 years of residential coverage that names parts, labor, plumbing and electrical together, plus 10 years on the tub and frame. Morozko Forge publishes 3 years parts and labor on PRO, XL and Arktika with a 72-hour on-site service guarantee, though its residential Forge, Ice Bath and Ice Plunge models get 1 year.

Everything else in the mainstream is 1 year on the cooling hardware. Plunge, Sun Home and Inergize are 1 year residential. Ice Barrel's chiller is 1 year, and while the document never uses the word labor, it excludes any costs incurred by anyone else for the repair. Renu's much-advertised 5-year warranty applies to the plastic body, not the chiller, which gets 1 year and can be extended to 5 for $299.99 or $499.99 depending on model.

On serviceability, the honest split is not integrated versus separate. It is whether the brand publishes a parts channel at all. Plunge, Ice Barrel, Sun Home, Renu, BlueCube, Morozko and Inergize all sell replacement parts with prices on their own sites. Two of them, BlueCube and Morozko, sell filter cartridges that are standard pool-industry parts (Pentair, Hayward, Waterway, Intex), which means a pool supply shop can source them without going through the brand. Edge Theory Labs sells nothing, because the company shut down.

How we checked this

  • What we read: each brand's own published warranty document, return or refund policy, and parts or accessories catalog. Where a Shopify catalog was public we read the live products.json for exact SKU prices rather than relying on a screenshot of a product page.
  • What counts as covered: we only mark a column covered when the brand's own warranty text says so. Where a brand's document is silent on labor or shipping, the cell reads "not published". We never fill a gap with an assumption.
  • What we did not do: we did not call support lines, submit test claims, or repair a unit. This page compares published terms, not service experiences. We do not review our own readers' quotes and we have no test lab.
  • Brands covered: all eight in the site's brand directory. Terms checked August 16, 2026. Warranty documents change without notice, so re-read the current version before you pay.

Read the Renu row twice. A manufacturer that puts 5 years on the plastic and 1 year on the chiller is telling you, in its own legal document, which half it expects to fail first. That is the single most useful sentence in this entire table, and it is not marketing copy. It is the company's own risk assessment.

What a repair actually costs, and who can do it

Warranty length only matters in proportion to what it is protecting you from. These are the published prices for the parts that fail, checked August 16, 2026.

Three things fall out of that table.

The cooling half costs nearly as much as the tub. A Plunge Air with the Pro Chiller Gen 2 is $5,490 in Plunge's live catalog on August 16, 2026, and the same Pro Chiller bought on its own is $3,990. A year-two chiller failure is a 73 percent repurchase. That is the number that makes a 1-year warranty expensive.

Off-the-shelf filters are a serviceability tell. BlueCube sells Pentair cartridges and Morozko sells Waterway, Hayward and Intex. Those are pool-industry standards stocked by any pool supply store, so the consumable that gets replaced every few weeks does not depend on the brand still existing. Plunge, Ice Barrel, Renu and Inergize sell brand-specific packs.

Published service pricing is rarer than published warranty length. Morozko is the only brand of the eight that publishes what a service visit costs: $599 one-time on-site, $550 per month on a monthly plan, $6,000 for the annual plan, and $750 for an inspection and repair that buys a 6-month warranty extension. Read the fine print on the last one: it is sold only to Arizona and Texas customers who are already under warranty, and geographic exclusions apply to the service plans too. Everyone else quotes on request.

Returns: the other way a bad buy gets expensive

A warranty covers defects. It does not cover changing your mind about a 350 lb crate. The restocking spread here is wider than the warranty spread.

BrandReturn windowRestocking feeWho pays return freightThe clause that bites
Renu Therapy45 days on cold plunge and hot soak5 percentCustomerSale items are final, and sale pricing is common

Edge Theory LabsNot applicableNot applicableNot applicableSecondhand only, no recourse

Sun Home's clause is the one buyers miss. You cannot uncrate a Sun Home cold plunge, try it and send it back. The return only exists for a box you never opened. Pair that with a 1-year warranty on a $13,999 Pro and the risk profile is very different from the price tag.

Renu going the other direction, 45 days at a 5 percent fee, is the most buyer-friendly return in the category, and it costs the brand real money to offer. Read it as a confidence signal.

Brand by brand, the short version

BlueCube: the only 3-year parts-and-labor coverage with a 10-year shell

The D1 page states 3 years full residential coverage of "parts and labor, covering components, plumbing, electrical, and labor", 1 year commercial, and 10 years on the aerospace aluminum tub frame. A 5-year component extension exists through a subscription plan whose price BlueCube does not publish. Filters are Pentair. The catch is the entry price of $12,750 and a 25 percent restocking fee that becomes zero flexibility on a custom build.

Right for: a buyer who wants the coverage question closed and can spend five figures. See Morozko vs BlueCube for the premium head to head.

Morozko Forge: 3 years and on-site service, but only above the residential line

PRO, XL and Arktika carry 3 years parts and labor. The 72-hour on-site service guarantee applies to PRO, Arktika, Tall Barrel, XL Ice Plunge and Mineral Bath. Residential Forge, Ice Bath and Ice Plunge get 1 year. Every Morozko warranty is non-transferable and non-relocatable without written permission, so moving house can end your coverage. Morozko also pays return shipping, which nobody else does, on a 14-day window, which is the shortest.

Right for: a buyer at the top of the market who wants somebody to come out. Read the winter guide too, since Morozko is the one brand that ships a heating coil as standard.

Renu Therapy: the split that proves the point

Plastic-body tubs get 5 years on all components from delivery. The chiller gets 1 year. The extension has to be bought within 364 days of shipment and adds 4 years after the original year expires, for a total of 5. Live catalog prices on August 16, 2026: $299.99 for the Cold Stoic 2.0, $499.99 for Vero, Aurelius, Cold Stoic 3.0 and Siberian. Labor reimbursement is capped at $50 per hour for a maximum of 2 hours through an approved service provider, and the customer pays anything above that plus all shipping.

That labor cap is unusual and worth understanding: Renu expects a third-party technician to do the work and contributes up to $100 toward it.

Right for: a buyer who will actually buy the chiller extension on day one. Skip it and the headline warranty covers the half that rarely fails.

Plunge: 1 year, but the deepest published parts catalog

Plunge maintains separate 1-year residential warranty documents for the tub, the Evolve Pro Chiller and the Evolve Standard Chiller. Those documents live on help.plunge.com, which blocked our automated fetch on August 16, 2026, so we could confirm the 1-year terms from the article titles but could not read the parts, labor and shipping clauses ourselves.

What we could verify is the parts channel, and it is the most complete in the category: a public parts collection, filter packs from $28 to $149, chiller connections at $38.50 and a standalone Pro Chiller at $3,990. One documented exclusion matters if you are considering a third-party chiller: Plunge's warranty text excludes "damage as a result of installing any chiller other than the Evolve Standard Chiller".

Right for: a buyer who values a real parts supply chain over warranty length. Compare against Sun Home and Ice Barrel.

Sun Home: one term for everything, including the $13,999 Pro

Sun Home publishes a single 1-year residential limited warranty against manufacturing defects with no separate term for the shell versus the chiller. The general terms, which name cold plunges explicitly, do carry a labor and shipping clause, and it is shorter than the warranty: "For all parts and components, the warranty also includes labor and shipping only for the first ninety (90) days from the date of delivery. After ninety (90) days, the customer is responsible for all shipping and labor charges." Read that as three months of real coverage and nine months of parts-only. Extended warranties are sold but the term and price are not published, so ask in writing before ordering. The Smart-Chiller is available separately at $2,299, which at least caps the worst-case repair.

Right for: a buyer who wants a 32F claim at $3,799 and accepts that everything past month three is parts-only, and year two is entirely on them.

Ice Barrel: the lifetime warranty that says three years

The barrel warranty is advertised as a limited lifetime warranty and written as "limited to 3 years", with delamination covered only in year 1 and cosmetic and weather damage excluded outright. The chiller is 1 year. The word labor does not appear anywhere in that document. What does appear is that Ice Barrel "shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred by any other person concerning the repair or replacement of any Chiller or Component Part", and that its sole remedy is to credit the purchase price. So a technician's bill lands on you, but read it as an exclusion of third-party costs rather than a labor clause, because that is what it says. Returns carry a 30 percent restocking fee, the highest here. On the other side of the ledger, the parts catalog is genuinely good: chiller kit $134.99, fitting kit $479.99, filters from $9.

XCover coverage is priced by product value. For an Ice Barrel 300 at $1,149.99, that is $188.99 for 3 years or $314.99 for 5.

Right for: the buyer starting unpowered. See stock tank cold plunge for the cheaper version of the same idea.

Inergize Health: short warranty, real parts counter

1 year residential, 6 months commercial, 3 months refurbished. The cost clause is the one to read: "Customer is responsible for costs related to removal of the defective unit, return shipping of the defective unit, shipping of the replacement from the factory, and installation of the replacement unit, unless otherwise agreed in writing." That is every line on the repair bill except the part itself, including the freight out of the factory. The warranty voids on non-genuine parts, rental use, skipped maintenance, removing the chiller strainer, stagnant water and freezing without winterization, which is a long list of ways to lose it.

The counterweight is the parts counter: an Elite Chiller at $2,690, an electrical pump at $150, filters from $78 a six-pack, descaling from $49. Inergize is also the service route for orphaned Edge units.

Right for: the $2,000 to $3,000 band buyer who wants parts availability more than paperwork.

Edge Theory Labs: the documented case for reading the company, not the warranty

Edge Theory Labs' own homepage carries the notice that the company has gone out of business. The 1-year factory warranty went with it. Owners who bought a Clyde or XCover extended plan can still file through XCover, which is the entire argument for third-party coverage on a young brand. Everyone else pays Inergize Health in San Diego for repairs at fees the service center sets per job, with no published price list.

Nothing about the tub failed. The company did. A warranty is only worth the balance sheet behind it, which is why brand age relative to warranty term belongs on your checklist. More on the pattern in cold plunge buying regrets and the inflatable tub review.

The minimum warranty to accept at each price

  • Under $2,000, unpowered. One year is the market. Accept it, and put the money you saved toward a third-party plan only if the tub is over $1,000. On a $1,149.99 Ice Barrel, $188.99 for 3 years of XCover is 16 percent of the purchase price to cover the item least likely to fail. Skip it and keep the cash for the chiller.
  • $2,000 to $3,000, portable with a chiller. One year residential is standard. What you should require instead is a published replacement-chiller price. Inergize publishes $2,690, Sun Home publishes $2,299. A brand that will not tell you what the cooling module costs has not thought about year three.
  • $3,000 to $8,000, mainstream powered. Do not accept a 1-year term without either a parts catalog you can see or an extended plan you buy on day one. This is the band where a $3,990 chiller replacement lands on a $5,490 tub.
  • $8,000 to $15,000, premium. Require parts and labor named together in the same sentence, not "warranty" as a bare word. Renu's 5-year plastic body plus a $499.99 chiller extension gets you there. So does BlueCube's 3-year bumper-to-bumper.
  • Above $15,000. On-site service should be in writing with a response time. Morozko's 72-hour on-site guarantee on PRO and XL is the only published response-time commitment we found.

At every tier, one question does more work than the rest: does the warranty document treat the tub and the chiller as one product or two? If it treats them as two, read the chiller term and ignore the headline.

What we could not verify

Publishing the gaps is part of the method. As of August 16, 2026:

  • Plunge's parts, labor and shipping clauses. help.plunge.com returned HTTP 403 to our fetch. The 1-year terms are confirmed from the titles of Plunge's own public warranty articles. The clause text is not.
  • Transferability for Plunge and BlueCube. Neither publishes a transferability statement we could read on an accessible page.
  • Extended plan price for BlueCube and Sun Home. Both confirm a plan exists. Neither publishes a number.
  • Inergize XCover pricing. The plan is referenced but does not appear as a priced SKU in the public catalog.
  • Replacement chiller price for Renu, BlueCube and Morozko. None of the three lists the cooling module as a purchasable service part. Renu's catalog does list a 0.25 HP chiller at $399.99, but there is no published statement that it is a replacement for an integrated Cold Stoic or Vero chiller.
  • Whether any of these lines are answered. We publish the phone numbers each brand lists. We did not call them, and a one-time call result would go stale within weeks anyway.
  • Real-world claim outcomes. We have not reviewed reader quotes, run bench tests, or collected claim data. This page compares published documents only.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which cold plunge brand has the best warranty?

BlueCube, on published terms: 3 years residential parts and labor plus 10 years on the tub and frame. Morozko Forge is close for PRO, XL and Arktika buyers at 3 years parts and labor with a 72-hour on-site service guarantee, but its residential models get 1 year. Renu's 5-year figure is the longest number in the category and applies only to the plastic body, not the chiller.

Do cold plunge warranties cover the chiller?

Usually for a shorter period than the tub, and sometimes under a separate document. Renu is 5 years on the plastic body and 1 year on the chiller. Ice Barrel is a 3-year-capped barrel warranty and 1 year on the chiller, with third-party repair costs excluded rather than labor named. Plunge issues separate 1-year warranty documents for the tub and each chiller. Always read the chiller term on its own.

Is a cold plunge warranty transferable if I sell the tub?

Not at any brand we could verify. Ice Barrel covers "the original consumer purchaser only", Renu applies only to the original purchaser or original gift recipient, Inergize is explicitly void on resale or gifting, and every Morozko warranty is non-transferable and non-relocatable without written permission. Buy used and you own the repair.

Does labor get covered on a cold plunge warranty claim?

Rarely in full. BlueCube and Morozko name labor as covered. Renu reimburses up to $50 per hour for a maximum of 2 hours. Ice Barrel's chiller warranty does not mention labor at all, but it excludes any costs or expenses incurred by another person for the repair, which puts a technician's bill on you. Inergize does not cover removal or installation. Sun Home covers labor and shipping for the first 90 days from delivery, then the customer pays both.

How much does it cost to replace a cold plunge chiller?

Between $2,299 and $3,999.99 at published August 2026 prices: Sun Home's Smart-Chiller $2,299, Inergize's Elite Chiller $2,690, Plunge's Pro Chiller $3,990, Ice Barrel's chiller $3,999.99. Renu, BlueCube and Morozko do not publish a replacement price. For third-party pairings, Penguin Chillers' Cold Therapy Chiller is $1,949.99 with a 7,500 BTU/hr rating and a 1-year warranty.

What happens to my warranty if the cold plunge company goes out of business?

It ends. Edge Theory Labs is the documented case in this category: the company closed, the factory warranty went with it, and only owners who had bought a Clyde or XCover third-party plan could still file a claim. Repairs now run through Inergize Health in San Diego at fees set per job. Weigh brand age against warranty term before you buy.

Can I put a third-party chiller on my cold plunge without voiding the warranty?

Check the exclusion list first. Plunge's warranty text excludes damage resulting from installing any chiller other than the Evolve Standard Chiller. Ice Barrel's 300 and 500 product pages both list chiller-ready ports at 3/4 inch NPT with 14 TPI and say the barrel connects to compatible cold plunge chillers, though the barrel and the chiller carry separate warranties. Get the answer in writing for your specific model before plumbing anything in.

Methodology

These guides are built from manufacturer documentation, public specifications, primary research where health claims matter, and repeated buyer questions that show up in real ownership and setup decisions.

Manufacturer responses can clarify pricing bands, warranty terms, support footprint, or common mistakes. They do not move a page up the shortlist on their own.
